The trade winds are blowing around the 5-16-1 San Jose Sharks.

The Trade Deadline isn’t until Mar. 8, but that didn’t stop the Athletic and Daily Faceoff from picking apart the most attractive Sharks trade candidates right now.

The Athletic has Anthony Duclair (No. 15), Kaapo Kahkonen (No. 21), and Alexander Barabanov (No. 24) in their top-25 trade board.

“Two years removed from a 31-goal season, Duclair has understandably been slowed by the torn Achilles tendon he had surgically repaired last year in Florida,” Chris Johnston wrote. “Still, he’s playing on an expiring contract carrying a reasonable cap hit and looks like a promising buy-low candidate from a Sharks team that is hungry to add more future assets.”

Daily Faceoff has Mike Hoffman (No. 11) and Kevin Labanc (No. 20) in their top-20 trade targets.

“It appears from the outside like Labanc’s confidence has been shattered,” Frank Seravalli wrote. “A fresh start is desperately needed. Will he get one?”

It’s interesting to note two different trade candidate lists, different Sharks on both. It sounds like GM Mike Grier will be pretty busy over the next few months!
