6 William Eklund Plays I’ve Liked | SJHN+

William Eklund is on the way to starting the year with the San Jose Sharks.

Keep in mind, we’re still two weeks away from the beginning of the regular season — a lot can change from now to Oct. 16 versus the Winnipeg Jets.

But what seemed so unlikely at the beginning of training camp — the 2021 first-round pick did not wow at the recent rookie tournament and the last teen San Jose Sharks draft pick to debut in the NHL in his draft year was Milan Michalek in 2003 — is fast becoming reality.

Eklund has wowed at many times this preseason, notching four assists, all on the power play, in three appearances.

And as I’ve noted on many occasions, it’s not just about offense with the Swedish winger.

Here are six plays that I’ve liked from Eklund, on both sides of the puck, so far this preseason.
