SJHN Daily: Emberson, Carpenter Placed on IR

Who’s hitting the IR next for the San Jose Sharks?

Today, it was Ty Emberson and Ryan Carpenter. On Saturday, it was Luke Kunin.

It’s not a one-way relationship, of course. Alexander Barabanov and Jan Rutta were activated off the IR yesterday. Filip Zadina could be next off the IR.

Also encouraging? That Nico Sturm, who was a late scratch before Sunday’s tilt against the New York Rangers, wasn’t placed on IR. So perhaps he’s back sooner than later.

We’ll see if they call anybody up from the Barracuda? Without Sturm, and even counting Jacob MacDonald as a forward, that’s 11 forwards on the San Jose roster as we speak.

It’s anybody’s guess what the San Jose Sharks line-up will look like on Tuesday against the New York Islanders.

AT SAN JOSE HOCKEY NOW…

The San Jose Sharks have been scoring more goals lately, but they’re still having troubles defending.

That point was on display in their 6-5 loss to the New York Rangers on Sunday.
