NEW YORK — Calen Addison is starting to show what he’s got.

The San Jose Sharks acquired the 23-year-old defenseman on Nov. 8 for a 2026 fifth-round pick and Adam Raska. Addison came in with a reputation as an offense-first blueliner, after 38 points in 92 NHL games with the Minnesota Wild. Meanwhile, the Sharks were in sore need of a power play quarterback.

It was a slow start in San Jose, however, for Addison, who went pointless in his first five games. But the production is starting to come: He’s got five assists in his last eight.

Three Addison plays, one obvious, two not so obvious, stood out to me in last night’s 6-5 loss to the New York Rangers.
