SJHN Daily: Musty Suspended Again, Sharks Recall Thrun

Quentin Musty leads the OHL with close to two Points Per Game (1.94).

The San Jose Sharks prospect also has two suspensions this year.

On Dec. 5, the OHL announced that for the second time this season, the Sudbury Wolves winger had been suspended for two games for slewfooting an opponent. On Dec. 3, Musty received a match penalty for slewfooting a Mississauga Steelheads player. On Nov. 15, he received a match penalty for slewfooting a Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds player.

There don’t seem to be any public replays of these incidents. But the OHL does review slew-footing match penalties, which carry an automatic two-game suspension, after the fact, to ensure that the suspensions were justified.

Here’s a reminder of how dangerous a slewfoot can be. We saw this earlier in the season when Nils Hoglander was given a match penalty for slewfooting Kevin Labanc.

You love Musty playing with an edge, but hopefully, the top prospect learns to rein it in.
