Preview/Lines #7: Granlund Will Not Play on Road Trip
TAMPA, Fla. – Good news is scarce around the San Jose Sharks these days.
They’re 0-5-1. Logan Couture started the season on IR and is still on it. Alexander Barabanov just broke his finger. And Mikael Granlund, who was on the verge of coming back from a lower-body injury, has been shelved again.
Heading into this road trip, the expectation was that Granlund, out since opening night, would play.
Sharks Locker Room: Quinn Praises Labanc, Suggests Granlund Return Close
He participated fully in Saturday’s morning skate in Nashville, then started off Monday’s practice in Sunrise on a regular line. Granlund, however, didn’t finish that practice.
Bad news: Granlund took part in an early drill today, but didn't participate in practice otherwise. Quinn said, "Little bit of a setback. We'll see tomorrow."
Also says that Couture continues to skate in San Jose, and is doing well

“We actually thought he was playing [against the Florida Panthers on Tuesday],” Quinn said yesterday. “Thought he was in. But unfortunately, it didn’t work out.”
So day-to-day with Granlund is back to week-to-week.
“He’s still getting evaluated,” Quinn said. “Not really sure where we’re at with him.”

Quinn confirms Blackwood to play tonight, Kahkonen tomorrow.
Vlasic was lone Shark skating after practice, so he's likely scratched. But Quinn says D pairings haven't been decided.
He also says #SJSharks will call a Barracuda forward up, an extra body for rest of trip.
