Erik Karlsson did not participate in any of the 2023 NHL All-Star Skills competitions, but he still stole the show.

Well, Erik didn’t. But another Karlsson, three-year-old daughter Harlow Rain Karlsson, came out with daddy to enjoy today’s festivities.

The San Jose Sharks’ lone representative has been looking forward to this aspect of his All-Star weekend visit, his first selection since 2019, from the moment that he was named to this year’s All-Star team.

Harlow was born in Oct. 2019 and son Stellan was born yesterday one year ago, so neither has seen the seven-time All-Star in this celebration of the league’s best.

“When you’re younger, you’re focusing on different things. Now I’m not that overwhelmed by all this. I’ve been around long enough,” the 32-year-old San Jose Sharks star said yesterday. “I’ll be able to enjoy it in a little bit in a different way and bring my kids along and get to see them enjoy it. Probably a little bit more than I do even.”

Stellan might be a little young to take it in – Karlsson alluded to as much yesterday, when he talked about how he and his wife Melinda celebrated his first birthday – but it looks like Harlow is soaking it all in.
