Two weeks ago, I called on San Jose Hockey Now subscribers to send their questions in for an exclusive subscriber Q&A with Weatherby.

I sat down with the popular San Jose Sharks rookie on Wednesday to ask a wide selection of your questions. I mixed in a few follow-up questions of my own.

whiskerz: Now you’re in the NHL, what is one skill that you now realize you need to improve in your game?

Just skating. It’s such a fast game out there, so being able to kind of keep up and maybe have some deceptive skating. I think that the game is so fast now.

Steve Edit: Does Lord Jasper Weatherby know that his nickname among the Sharks fan base is “Lord”?

I do know that. Some of my family members bought the stickers and things. They’ve been making some fun jokes about it. I think it’s hilarious. Whatever fans like to call me, it’s totally fine by me.

(Sheng: Does the locker room know you’re called “Lord”?)

I hope not. (laughs) Maybe they do, but nobody’s said anything. I hope it stays that way.
