It’s not every day that an announcer reaches 2,000 games called, especially with the same team.

So it’s not surprising that the tributes overflowed for San Jose Sharks TV play-by-play announcer Randy Hahn last night, as he called his 2,000th, a 3-2 Sharks’ victory over the Arizona Coyotes.

Before the game, the San Jose Sharks’ official Twitter account shared old Hahn photos and fan tributes.

During the first stoppage, a special tribute video played on the SAP Center scoreboard, followed by a thunderous applause by a small but passionate announced 10,462.

Later in the game, no less than Patrick Marleau and Joe Thornton paid tribute to their fellow San Jose Sharks icon:

It wouldn’t be a Randy Hahn tribute without hearing some play-by-play! Here’s his call of the eventual Nico Sturm game-winner:

And it’s not just San Jose Sharks fans who appreciate the television voice of the Sharks. The players got together to give Hahn a gift to savor:

And perhaps the tribute most near and dear to Hahn himself, some of Hahn’s co-workers wore a specially-made Randy Hahn tribute t-shirt, like this one worn by Sharks PA announcer Danny Miller – and Hahn’s family made special Hahn signs, like this one held by Randy’s wife Andrea.

Here’s to another thousand games, Randy!
