Joe Pavelski gave future NFL Hall of Famer Aaron Rodgers advice on changing teams.

That’s what the new New York Jets quarterback revealed in a recent press conference. Both Pavelski and Rodgers took part in the 2023 American Century Championship golf tournament in Tahoe, which boasted a field with many star athletes including Steph Curry, Mike Modano, Jerry Rice, and Steve Young.

After four MVP trophies and a Super Bowl victory with the Green Bay Packers, Rodgers was traded this offseason to the Jets. Rodgers wanted to pick the brains of athletes who have dealt with similar situations.

“I’ve talked to a lot of friends, in multiple sports, who have had long careers in certain places,” he shared.

Rodgers continued: “I just got time to spend time with my buddy Joe Pavelski, who played for the Sharks for so long and now he’s with the Stars. There was a lot of guys like that up in Tahoe.”

Pavelski, in his career with the San Jose Sharks, ranks second in goals, fourth in assists, third in points, and fourth in games played all-time for the organization. After the team’s 2019 Western Conference Finals loss, Pavelski would sign a three-year deal with the Dallas Stars.

Pavelski has helped the Stars make two Western Conference Finals and one Stanley Cup Final in his four years with the club. He signed another one-year extension with the Stars on Jan. 1 of this year, and is set to continue contributing to the Stars’ top-six forward group.

Rodgers, fresh off advice from Pavelski and NFL legends Tom Brady, Carson Palmer, and Peyton Manning, will hope to have a similar success in New York.
