SPECULATION: If Grier Becomes Sharks GM, Will David Quinn Be Head Coach?

The San Jose Sharks are now without both a general manager and a head coach, but the GM finalists have emerged. Likely among them is former Sharks forward Mike Grier. Per Pierre LeBrun, there is a chance that David Quinn could fill the coaching vacancy in San Jose if Grier lands the GM spot. The possible future Sharks head coach was recently rumored to be one of the top candidates for the head coach position with the Boston Bruins and shares a Boston University connection with Grier.
Quinn has most recently been the head coach for the New York Rangers, spending three seasons leading the team from 2018-21. In his 208 regular season games, the Rangers put up a 96-87-25 record.
From 2013-2018, Quinn was the bench boss for Boston University, guiding the team to a much stronger 100-59-20 record in his five seasons.
Grier played at BU from 1993-96, while Quinn played there from 1984-88.
Mike Grier also believed to be among the GM finalists for the Sharks job and there are some who wonder if he gets the job whether David Quinn would be hired as coach?
Going to be interesting to see what the Sharks end up doing. https://t.co/Deu6AI0n7O— Pierre LeBrun (@PierreVLeBrun) July 1, 2022
