Are the San Jose Sharks listening on Kevin Labanc?

That’s what one NHL source told San Jose Hockey Now this week, days before the Apr. 12 Trade Deadline: “Hear Labanc could be available for the right price.”

That’s unexpected news: The 25-year-old winger is in the first season of a four-year, $18.9 million dollar contract, signed last October. He’s enjoyed a solid campaign with nine goals and 14 assists. Over an 82-game season, that’s a 50-point pace.

The keyword here? It seems that Doug Wilson is “listening” on Labanc – not “shopping”. So what’s Wilson hoping to hear?
