Sharks on Vacation: Meier Jumps Off Cliff in Mexico, Hertls Hit Disneyland

For all San Jose Sharks players not named Erik Karlsson, the bye week and NHL All-Star Game brought a much-needed time to relax and vacation. Let’s take a look at what some of these players have been up to, before they return to practice today.

The Hertls spent their time off by taking a trip to Southern California. First, they stopped in Anaheim to visit the Happiest Place on Earth!

Then, they moved a little further south to check out San Diego. The trio traveled to the beach, USS Midway Museum, and San Diego Zoo.

With some recent cloudy and rainy days in the Bay Area, I’m sure the family was grateful to be soaking up the sun in SoCal.

Like the Hertls, it looks like Jonah and Alli Gadjovich stayed in California, hitting both the surf and the snow:

Other San Jose Sharks really got away though, with Mexico being the leading destination.

Timo Meier and Noah Gregor vacationed in Tulum, Mexico. It’s not Meier’s first time heading south of the border, as he traveled with former teammate Matt Nieto to Cabo San Lucas last year.

I wonder if there will be a clause in Meier’s next contract preventing him from any cliff jumping over the next eight seasons.

Speaking of Cabo, that’s where Nico Sturm and girlfriend Taylor Turnquist ended up:

No word on if they ran into Radim and Anna Simek:

The Megnas traveled to Maui where they were treated to some gorgeous views and company from several teammates.

Via Kasey Megna’s Instagram, it appears that San Jose Sharks Kaapo Kahkonen, Oskar Lindblom, and Scott Harrington joined them for the trip, as their significant others are all posing with Megna.

Unfortunately, Megna was dealt to the Seattle Kraken shortly after this trip.

Meanwhile, Evgeny Svechnikov joined Karlsson in Florida…kind of! Svechnikov FaceTimed with brother Andrei Svechnikov after the younger Svechnikov’s Skills triumph:

The San Jose Barracuda are also on break, with the AHL All-Star Game allowing the prospects some time off from their normal schedules. In the AHL’s Skills competition, Thomas Bordeleau showed off his quick hands on the breakaway.

That quick release has allowed Bordeleau to lead the Barracuda in goals this season and will surely be haunting NHL goaltenders soon.

Top prospect William Eklund is using his time off to visit some local sites,

The Swedish winger made the trip inland to Napa to visit Vittorio’s Vineyard. Hopefully, the wine of Northern California can compete with the European wine that Eklund is likely accustomed to.

San Jose Sharks legend Patrick Marleau dropped in for the NHL All Star Game festivities. He, his children, and Mitch Marner even took a photo to show the bond they’ve maintained since Marleau’s brief stint in Toronto.

With the beanie, it looks like Landon Marleau may have already outgrown Mitch Marner.
