SJHN Daily: Kane Skating at Sharks Ice

Published

on

Evander Kane, San Jose Sharks

San Jose Sharks forward Evander Kane was at Solar4America Ice yesterday, per The Athletic. The Mercury News confirmed that Kane has been skating there.

This is believed to be Kane’s first appearance at the San Jose Sharks’ practice facility since before training camp.

Kane is eligible to return from his 21-game suspension on Nov. 30 when the Sharks take on the New Jersey Devils amidst a five-game road trip.

The Sharks could certainly use Kane’s speed and goal-scoring ability on the wing with Kevin Labanc’s struggles and Jonathan Dahlen’s day-to-day injury status. Furthermore, San Jose have tallied just eight goals in their last five games (1-4 record), and it doesn’t get any easier with the Carolina Hurricanes and Toronto Maple Leafs heading into town this week.

While having the 30-year-old forward penciled into the lineup would boost the 5-on-5 offense and power play, it could cause disruption to the chemistry within the San Jose Sharks’ locker room.

Head coach Bob Boughner did not know about Kane’s whereabouts last night when asked after a 4-0 loss to the Washington Capitals, but said that “there are decisions that need to be made.”

We’ll see what Kane’s presence at Sharks Ice means.

What do you think, Sharks fans? Do you want Evander Kane back in the line-up once his suspension is up?

UPDATE: Evander Kane is now accusing his estranged wife of faking a pregnancy over the last few months — he’s asking a judge to order her to take a mental exam to prove she’s fit to take care of their daughter.
