It was a Happy New Year for the San Jose Sharks in Chicago.

The Sharks rang in the new year the right way with a 5-2 victory over the Chicago Blackhawks, reeling off five unanswered goals.

After the game, Jonah Gadjovich, who started the San Jose Sharks’ comeback down 2-0 to the Hawks, talked about the chemistry that he has with Steven Lorentz and Oskar Lindblom. Marc-Edouard Vlasic celebrated his 1,200th NHL game with his first goal of the season, and he gives a funny answer for what he’s going to do with the goal puck from his milestone game. He also talks about Erik Karlsson’s impressive season, as Karlsson sets a franchise record with a point in his 13th straight game.

Jonah Gadjovich, on his own recent game:

I feel good. I feel like I’m contributing. I’m trying to play physical, get in on the forecheck. Obviously, there’s a lot of areas that I can improve on, but I’m doing my best out there and I’m trying to provide an identity for our fourth line.

Gadjovich, on what’s working on his line:

We’re all buying into our role. We’re trying to work from our zone out. We’re all on the same page.

Gadjovich, on if he knew from the get-go that it was goal on his goal:

When we were hugging, I just asked Tommy if he got it. He’s like, I don’t know. So we just rolled through. I didn’t really care.

Vlasic, on Erik Karlsson’s season:

Pretty impressive. Every shift, he’s creating something dangerous every time he’s on the ice. Very, very impressive.

Vlasic, on what he’s going to do with his goal puck from his 1,200th game:

I’ll probably play street hockey with my dogs with it or they’ll steal it, put a hole in it.

David Quinn, on his fourth line:

They were one of, if not our best line last night in Dallas. It really been going in the right direction and there’s a lot I like about that line.

Quinn, on Vlasic:

He’s been an unbelievable player for this organization. Not only on the ice and off the ice, the way that he represents our organization. He’s a true pro and I’ve really enjoyed getting to know him and coach him.

I’m just really happy for him. It’s a pretty, pretty unbelievable accomplishment to play 1,200 games for one organization.

Quinn, on San Jose Sharks being able to finish the Blackhawks off in third period unlike past games where they’ve blown leads:

The only way to learn how to do it is do it and you draw from those experiences. So hopefully we’re in that position again, we have a good feeling about it, and follow through the way we did tonight.

Quinn, on Kaapo Kahkonen’s performance:

I’ve liked his last two games, I really did. I thought he was really good tonight. Didn’t get tested a lot, but when he did he answered the bell…I liked his presence, I liked his confidence.
