San Jose Sharks
Ducks Stun Sharks in OT 5-4
The San Jose Sharks visit the Anaheim Ducks at Honda Center. Matt Nieto and Steven Lorentz gave the Sharks a quick 2-0 lead, then Timo Meier added a couple more, but the Sharks were stunned in OT 5-4.
Period 1
Nieto goal: Barabanov attacks the net again, Klingberg with casual defense on Nieto, caught puck-watching.
Lorentz goal: Gadjovich does a nice job protecting down low.
Karlsson has scored a point in every game against the Ducks this season, now up to 4 goals and 4 assists in 4 games

Gadjovich 10-9 Carrick — Gadjovich holds up when Carrick down on knee.
Zegras goal: Sharks were baring their teeth, showing a little killer instinct, but what Vlasic flub lets the Ducks back into the game. Klingberg makes up for his early mistake, sells shot, passes it across royal road to Zegras.
Hertl penalty: What a strange penalty. Doesn’t seem like much. Vatrano hits back-to-back posts on PP, Benning second effort may have prevented Vatrano from scoring the second time.
Lorentz double-minor: San Jose Sharks just can’t put that knee on the throat.
Strome goal: 1:31 shift for Karlsson, he can’t keep up with McTavish. Strome establishes position on Nieto, Nieto can’t get the stick. Disappointing, considering how strong the Sharks started.
We've seen this from #SJSharks versus #FlyTogether this year: SJS 9-2 Slot Shots, 11-2 High-Danger at 5-on-5 through 20 minutes…tied at 2 apiece

Period 2
6 in: Mesmerizing puck movement up top from Karlsson and Hertl, leads to Meier deflection. San Jose Sharks still having the better of the play.
Then Svechnikov gets hits hard, but Harrington able to come in for a breakaway.
We're not even halfway through the game, Meier already has 7 shots

Meier goal: Meier on forecheck made the Ducks exit a challenge.
9 left: Lindblom quick on point Kulikov, kills the play.
McTavish goal: Sharks just can’t put these guys away. What in the world? Remarkable that Kaapo made a sprawling save on the first chance.
5 left: What a save by Kahkonen! Bails out Ferraro who got caught up on a pinch.
3 left: Big save off broken play by Kahkonen.
Solid forechecking shift from Sturm line. Bonino in good position as Ducks exit, turns the play around again.
1 left: Good find by Benning, Nieto sneaking off bench.
Kahkonen coming through, Sharks not giving up a ton of shots to Ducks, but some Grade-A chances. Ducks 9-8 High-Danger at 5-on-5 per Natural Stat Trick.
Period 3
2 in: Good forechecking shift from Lorentz line.
9 in: Another solid FC shift to kill time, good cycle by Lorentz line.
10 in: Good backcheck by Couture, Barabanov. Sharks playing a pretty complete game.
Good forecheck shift from Sturm line. Then other end, awful Megna giveaway, but he’s bailed out, puck deflected out of play.
McTavish goal: Awful Vlasic turnover. Not a strong game for him. Then you need a stop by Kahkonen there. I have no idea how that’s onside, but bad play shouldn’t be rewarded, I guess.
1 left: Sturm block, hopefully he’s OK, a waste in a game that shouldn’t even be here.
OT
Couture-Meier-Karlsson to start, that’s a change.
