What’s Rudolfs Balcers’s Ceiling?

Published

on

KyleErik, and JD revisit the San Jose Sharks’ long weekend in Minnesota. We check in on the Tankathon standings and their nonexistent playoff odds. Then we ponder which prospects we think will get ice time in the last 12 games (11:00), check-in on the Seattle expansion (17:00), and the very boring games against the Minnesota Wild (22:30). We discuss Kevin Labanc and Timo Meier’s in-game demotion (24:00) and what is Rudolf Balcers’ ceiling (30:00)?

Balcers’ upside. he’s on a 17g/39pts 82-game pace. realistic upside considering a regular 2LW+PP season is probably more like 20 goals/40-45 pts at best. also, he’s more of a complimentary player than Labanc is. Labanc creates/drives offense, even though his scoring pace (18-19g/46-47pts) isn’t a lot higher. so his value isn’t as high, imo.

Yea 20-20-40 sounds about right for Balcers. I wonder, long-term, if his finishing ability will be a problem.
