If not Burns, other ex-San Jose Sharks stars close to the silver chalice include the Oilers’ Evander Kane, the Stars’ Joe Pavelski, and the Kraken’s Martin Jones. The Devils’ Timo Meier is still in the picture too.

Carolina is currently up 3-1 over New Jersey in their second-round series. Edmonton and Vegas are tied at two games apiece, as are Dallas and Seattle. You can put in your own bet using a BetMGM bonus code.

Of particular interest to San Jose Sharks fans? Where New Jersey ends up. The Devils traded their 2023 first-round pick and a conditional 2024 second-round pick to the Sharks in a larger package for Meier in February.

If New Jersey rallies over Carolina to reach the Eastern Conference Finals, that conditional 2024 second-round pick becomes a 2024 first, as long as Meier plays over half the Devils’ playoff games. The 2023 first-round pick would then be in the No. 29 through 32 range.

However, if New Jersey loses to Carolina, that 2023 first-round pick will be either No. 25 (if Edmonton advances) or No. 26 (if Vegas advances). And San Jose Sharks fans will have to hope for the Devils to make the 2024 Eastern Conference Finals to upgrade that conditional 2024 second-round pick.
