They're All Gonna Laugh at Me!

For real, TOR, while they “choked”, it certainly doesn’t help they lost one of their four horsemen to a massive injury in game 1, and were stuck with Sandin running around in game 7 in place of Muzzin. Not a TOR fan by any means, but they were close to pulling it off and moving on to lose to WPG in 6 😉 Hopefully Jumbo gets another shot somewhere, but sadly, I think time is catching up to him. I hope Jumbo gets one more shot somewhere. It took Bourque two playoffs in Colorado to win one too. He’s not nearly the player he used to be anymore. He’s a fringe 4th liner and specialist at most now. The two knee surgeries and age has caught up to him. I still felt Leafs misused him. He shouldn’t really be a pp1 guy anymore, but if they are content to do that, at least put him in a position to be effective. Keefe has stubbornly kept him at net front…I truly don’t recall Joe playing there since his late 90s… Read more »

Thornton doesn’t do much with anything he’s given when it comes to the playoffs.

I think we kinda agree with each other. I do agree that he is not a pp1 guy anymore, making him play net front makes things worse than it is, for both the Leafs and Thornton. He’s most effective with touches of the puck, he wasn’t getting any touches on these pp opportunities being net front. You could be right that he isn’t doing much as a pp2 guy playing the wall either, I can see that, then just don’t put him on pp, I just don’t think net front suits him in my experience of watching him, he doesn’t… Read more »
