GOTTA SEE IT: Thomas Bordeleau Scores 1st NHL Goal

Thomas Bordeleau has scored a spectacular goal in the NHL, but it didn’t count.
That is, at least on his hockey card.
In his 2021-22 NHL debut campaign, Bordeleau scored a shootout goal to remember, crippling the Vegas Golden Knights’ playoff hopes and helping the San Jose Sharks snap their 11-game losing streak against their bitter rivals.

And now, his hockey card is going to have a goal.
In the opening frame of the San Jose Sharks’ tilt against the Colorado Avalanche, aided by Mike Hoffman’s hustle and Matt Benning’s point shot, Bordeleau showed some of his incredible hand-eye coordination to beat Alexander Georgiev for his first NHL goal.

This recalls his on-his-butt deflection goal at the Rookie Faceoff.
The San Jose Sharks hope this is the first of many goals from their 2020 second-pick.
“Feels good,” Bordeleau told Drew Remenda between periods. “Obviously, you want to get the first one out of the way, so you can get the pressure off your shoulders.”
Bordeleau had five assists in eight games in 2021-22, two assists in eight games in 2022-23, and now, he’s got one goal through two appearances this season.
