Our Sharks Superlatives
The San Jose Sharks have released their end-of-season superlatives, as voted on by the fans. However, there are some alternative options that need to be considered, and I argue on their behalf below.
Most Likely To…Bring a Speaker Everywhere
Lizz’s Pick: The argument for Ferraro being the selection in this one is extremely valid and completely understandable, especially with the team posting photo evidence. It’s hard to argue with that.
Most Likely To…Never Make It Out of an Escape Room
Lizz’s Pick: You all just voted for Gregor because he was voted by the team as the unluckiest guy on the roster, didn’t you? Or, is it because he wasn’t picking up goals quite as often as everybody wanted during the season? Either way, it’s time to give Noah Gregor a break.
Yeah, there’s no evidence to back this up, but Long Beach native Matt Nieto just seems like the kind of guy who would get tired of trying to get out 15 minutes in and just wait the time out rather than stress about trying to solve the puzzles. He’d still be actively looking at everything in the room, but I just don’t think he’d be trying to get out.
Most Likely To…Star in Their Own Reality Show
Lizz’s Pick: If you haven’t already seen Mario Ferraro and John Leonard on YouTube, you’re missing out. While Burns may have had his moment on “Vikings”, if you’re looking for fun, reality TV-style drama, roommates Ferraro and Leonard would be the best to watch and they’d probably have a great time filming it.
Best Hair
Lizz’s Pick: Ferraro was the obvious vote here based on the options (which left Erik Karlsson off of the ballot), but we all know which Sharks defenseman is the actual winner. Karlsson can make both the flow and the short hair work, the “Thor effect” as has been brought up in a few conversations. It doesn’t matter what stage his hair is in, Karlsson takes this category for sure.
Best Dressed
Lizz’s Pick: Yeah, there’s not really any way to argue Timo Meier, but give it a year. Thomas Bordeleau will likely have more of a full wardrobe in San Jose next season and will give Meier a run for his money. Next year, we may have a new winner in this vote.
Most Likely To…Brighten Up Your Day
Lizz’s Pick: Alright, there’s no doubt that Tomas Hertl is a completely deserving winner of this title. However, there is another option.
Come on, you know James Reimer just could throw a smile your way or crack a joke about aging like fine wine (yeah, I haven’t let that go yet) and just make everything seem like it’s going to be alright. Honestly, either of these two could start laughing and just brighten your day, but for me? Always vote for your goalie.
