Kyle and JD take stock of some of the San Jose Sharks heading into training camp. stock down on Blichfeld, who had an outstanding rookie pro debut season in the AHL (led the Cuda in goals and points despite only playing 25 games), sounds a bit blinded by the new shiny players over promising prospects already in the pipeline. Blichfeld didn’t get much of an opportunity with the Sharks after being suspended. he did score his first NHL goal in the 5 games “opportunity” he got. he’s got top 6 pure goal scorer upside. i think it’s too early to say his stock has fallen. at least wait until after camp tbf. i don’t really get… Read more »

like you guys were saying about Pederson, he seems to be a response to a lack of confidence in Gambrell at 4C more than anything-Weatherby and Reedy are camp competition. so, probably not a good compare/contrast with Blichfeld on my part. Blichfeld is younger than him by a year, and 5 years younger than Barabanov, so they shouldn’t be giving up on him. btw, i’m worried that Barabanov got a 1M 1-way contract based on doing well in a very small sample size of games played. it’s only a 1-yr deal, so i guess DW learned a bit from the… Read more »

that’ll be a fun listen, JD!

the Blades have 5 overage players (incl. Robins) potentially returning. a goalie, d-man, and 3 F’s. they can only have 3 max on the team. i think it’s more likely Robins plays with the Cuda. he was an older player in the draft.

does Regina still hold Guschin’s WHL rights? i think he needs to step up in competition at least playing in the WHL rather than return to Muskegon in the USHL. that league was way too easy for him.
