GOTTA SEE IT: Marleau Tears Up Remembering Don Baizley, Jokes About Getting Gordie Howe Hat Trick Tonight
Patrick Marleau got emotional during a 20-minute press conference with the San Jose Sharks media corps the morning of the game in which he will surpass Gordie Howe’s NHL’s All-Time Games Played record.
Marleau, set to play in his 1,768th regular season game tonight, especially thanked his agent Don Baizley, who passed away in 2013.
“All that he did for me, throughout my career, was extremely amazing for me,” the San Jose Sharks legend said. “He definitely was a huge part of my career.”
Marleau also joked about the possibility of honoring Howe tonight by earning a Gordie Howe hat trick: A goal, an assist, and a fight.
“Some people have texted me saying to try and get that done tonight,” the long-time Shark said. “I could do the goal and the assist, and if it has to come to a fight, maybe I could do a wrestling match with somebody if they’re willing.”
The questions were asked by Willie Ramirez from The Associated Press and Marko Ukalovic of Bay Area Sports Wrap.

The San Jose Sharks play the Vegas Golden Knights tonight at 7 p.m.
