Here’s a first look at what the AHL All-Star teams will be wearing in February in San Jose.

The San Jose Barracuda are hosting the league’s annual All-Star Classic on Feb. 4 and 5 at Tech CU Arena.

Here are the jerseys that each division is expected to wear during the event.

It’s not clear, at this time, which helmets and pants that they’ll be wearing and when, but the Pacific, Atlantic, Central, and North Division jerseys appear to be set.

The Barracuda debuted new uniforms last year, and these All-Star jerseys mix All-Star recognition with nods to the Cuda’s base jerseys. The Atlantic’s will be based on the Blackout jerseys, the North on the Ice design, the Central on the Steel, and the Pacific is going with a nod to the San Jose Sharks’ teal.

The AHL crest is also a reference to the Barracuda’s Blackout jersey that features Cuda in the diagonal direction. The stars and stripes across the socks and sleeves were on last year’s AHL All-Star jersey design, which Laval hosted.

The All-Star squads for each division will comprise of at least one player from each AHL team. The All-Star sides will compete in round-robin 3v3 games, with the winners competing for the championship. The Pacific Division is the defending champ and is looking to repeat on home ice.

The San Jose Sharks’ AHL affiliate have started to exit the basement of the Pacific Division over the last few weeks. Danil Gushchin is the clubhouse leader to represent the Barracuda at this showcase event. The top San Jose Sharks prospect is pacing the Cuda with 25 points in 26 AHL games as one of their more consistent producers.

Defenseman Leon Gawanke could be another potential player to represent the Cuda. He’s tied for fourth among all AHL defensemen with 22 points this season. Gawanke, however, could have some major competition in the Pacific Division on the blueline, with Brandt Clarke of the Ontario Reign and Olen Zellweger from the San Diego Gulls having stellar seasons as well.

AHL All-Star rosters should be announced in mid-January.
