The San Jose Sharks’ full preseason and regular season schedules are out!

San Jose begins their preseason at home on Sept. 24, hosting the Stanley Cup champion Vegas Golden Knights. Their six-game preseason schedule will conclude against the Los Angeles Kings on Oct. 5 in the NHL’s Frozen Fury game in Salt Lake City.

The team’s 2023-24 campaign will start off difficult. The San Jose Sharks will begin with a four-game homestand hosting the Knights, Colorado Avalanche, Carolina Hurricanes, and Boston Bruins. After, they will go on a five-game road trip which feature more powerhouses like the Hurricanes, Tampa Bay Lightning, and Florida Panthers.

At the end of November, the Sharks will go on their longest road trip of the season. The six-game trip will feature the Bruins, New York Rangers and Islanders, and the New Jersey Devils. Then the team will head back west to play against the Detroit Red Wings and Knights.

That will kick off San Jose’s most difficult away period of the season from Nov. 30 to Jan. 16 where the team will have just three of their 16 games at home. However, they do have a two-and-a-half week break starting on Dec. 24 to help break up the travel.

Familiar faces will make their return to San Jose. Brent Burns and the Canes will come to the Shark Tank on Oct. 14 while Joe Pavelski and the Dallas Stars will come back on both Mar. 5 and 26.

The organization also announced the first half of their promotional schedule as well, which will feature a goalie mask giveaway on Oct. 14, a celebration of South Asian Culture on Nov. 9, and Hockey Fights Cancer night on Nov. 16. The second half of the promotional schedule will be released later.

One well-documented change, the players will not be wearing warm-up jerseys for those tilts.

The Sharks are currently in their franchise’s longest playoff drought. If jockeying for positioning, either for the playoffs or the 2024 NHL Draft order, the 13-game streak of Western Conference opponents from Mar. 23 to Apr. 18 will be pivotal at the conclusion of the season.
