“You don’t see them very often like that,” Gadjovich told San Jose Hockey Now Tuesday morning about trading bombs with Gilbert. “A lot of the guys were saying that [too]. Even the linesmen were saying they hadn’t seen a fight like that in a while. It was a good fight.”
#Flames have recalled D Nick DeSimone. His close buddy, Dennis Gilbert, lands on injured reserve.

Unfortunately for Gilbert, he was knocked down by Gadjovich and left the game. He was placed on IR today, with former San Jose Barracuda defenseman Nick DeSimone called up in response.
#Flames D Nick DeSimone on being called up as a result on an injury to his best buddy Dennis Gilbert: “I hated seeing that. Especially him, I hated watching it. But he’s doing well and he’s happy for me and I’m happy for him.”

“I mean, at the end of the day, you’re not actually trying to hurt someone. As weird as it is saying, you’re trying to hurt someone when you fight them. [But] obviously, don’t want to see that. You don’t want to see them on the IR or be out for a bit,” Gadjovich said. “It’s tough, obviously didn’t want to hurt him, but we both are trying to do our jobs right there.”
Gadjovich also talked about how his team feels about his fighting role. It’s already his fifth fight in 17 games this year.
“Well, they appreciate me trying to get the team going or if I’m sticking up for a teammate or myself,” Gadjovich explained. “I think guys around the room and the staff appreciate that. That’s just something that’s part of my role here, and I’m willing to do it.”
The San Jose Sharks and Calgary Flames will rematch tonight, and it will be interesting to see if there is a response to the fight.
