Joe Thornton Is Practicing with HC Davos
Joe Thornton is practicing with HC Davos in Switzerland.
Earlier today, an HC Davos Instagram fanpage posted this photo of the San Jose Sharks superstar in Davos practice garb:
This jibes with Elliotte Friedman’s report last week that Thornton will play for HC Davos this fall, with the intention of returning to the San Jose Sharks when the 2020-21 NHL season starts.
At this point, however, there has been no announcement of a Thornton contract with HC Davos. It wouldn’t be the first time, of course, that Thornton has worked out with the Swiss side. It’s well known that the Thornton family vacations in Switzerland every summer. He also played there during the 2012-13 and 2004-05 lockouts.
A text to Thornton’s agent, John Thornton, was not returned.
