ANAHEIM, Calif. — The San Jose Barracuda are sending another representative to the AHL All-Star Game.

Top San Jose Sharks prospect Shakir Mukhamadullin, second to Leon Gawanke among Barracuda defensemen with 26 points, and seventh among all AHL blueliners, has been added to the league’s Pacific Division side.

Mukhamadullin won’t have to go far. AHL All-Star weekend is Feb. 4 and 5 at Tech CU Arena.

Mukhamadullin should be joining fellow top San Jose Sharks prospect Danil Gushchin.

The winger leads the Cuda with 37 points, also tied for seventh in the league.

Mukhamadullin is wrapping up his NHL debut week tonight against the Anaheim Ducks, before the San Jose Sharks go on their All-Star and bye breaks.

Gushchin is still questionable for AHL All-Star weekend. He suffered an upper-body injury, labeled day-to-day, on Jan. 26, and hasn’t played since. The Cuda wrap up their first half on Feb. 2 and Feb. 3 in Abbotsford.

If Gushchin can’t make it, it’s good that the host city will have a representative to be excited about.
