ANAHEIM, Calif. – The San Jose Sharks will cut down their rosters significantly after tonight’s split squad games in Anaheim and Vegas.
At the moment, with Ben Gaudreau and Mason Beaupit returned to their respective junior teams, the Sharks’ roster is down to 48. They’ll need it at 27 when they leave for their trip to Europe tomorrow.
So tonight could be a last NHL hurrah (for now) for surprise prospects Danil Gushchin, Artem Guryev, and Tristen Robins.
And what’s next for more NHL-ready prospects Thomas Bordeleau, William Eklund, Scott Reedy, Ryan Merkley, Nick Cicek, Santeri Hatakka, and Artemi Kniazev? Who starts with the Sharks, who starts with the Barracuda?
It’s also a last chance for veterans Evgeny Svechnikov, Jeffrey Viel, Jonah Gadjovich, and Max Veronneau to show that they belong with the San Jose Sharks on opening night.
PTO-no-more Scott Harrington will be on that plane.
Can confirm @CurtisPashelka's report: #SJSharks will announce the signing of Scott Harrington to a 1-year, 1-way contract soon

PP2 — Bonino, Gregor, Reedy, Gushchin, Pouliot— Curtis Pashelka (@CurtisPashelka) September 30, 2022
