The San Jose Sharks have signed their 2023 second-round pick Kasper Halttunen to an entry-level contract.

The 6-foot-3 right-winger captained Finland at the 2023 under-18 World Championships, where he led the team with 10 points through five games. He then put up 18 goals and 24 points through 18 games in Finland’s U-20 league, along with appearing in Finland’s top league, where he registered a lone assist in 27 Liiga games.

He also recently impressed at San Jose Sharks’ development camp. According to San Jose Barracuda head coach John McCarthy, “Halttunen has some attributes to like, long, big body, handles the puck well, obviously the shot is a threat.”
