Preview/Lines #66: Quinn Gets Why NHL Fined Him, ‘Pissed’ Sharks Look To Rebound

San Jose Sharks head coach David Quinn wants to move on from his outburst on referee Gord Dwyer that got him ejected from last Saturday’s 8-3 loss to the Washington Capitals.
“Like I said, I was embarrassed with what I did,” Quinn said this morning. “I shouldn’t have reacted the way I did.”
However, for whatever reason, it took the NHL until yesterday, four days after the fact, to mete out punishment, in the form of a $25,000 fine “for conduct demeaning the officials.”
Quinn doesn’t know what took the league so long, noting that he’s never been in this situation. The last head coach to be ejected from a game was Jon Cooper on Mar. 3, 2022.
“I understand why the league did what it did,” Quinn acknowledged.
So that’s that, and we can move on. That is, until the next time that Dwyer refs a Sharks game.

After getting humiliated 6-0 by the Colorado Avalanche, the Sharks look to pick up the pieces.
“They weren’t happy. They were pissed. They were embarrassed. And we’ll find out how pissed and embarrassed they were at about 9:30 tonight,” Quinn said of the mood in the locker room. “It’s nice to say you’re pissed and embarrassed, but you got to do something about it.”
