It’s official: The San Jose Sharks have added defenseman Valtteri Pulli and goaltender Georgi Romanov to the system.

Pulli, 22, is a 6-foot-6 blueliner, who posted three goals and 14 assists in 53 games for TPS Turku this season.

“Valtteri is a solid defenseman with size,” GM Mike Grier said in a San Jose Sharks press release. “He plays important minutes for good programs in TPS and the Finnish National Team camps.”

San Jose Hockey Now, off a report from Finnish news outlet Ilta Sanomat, first got wind of this signing in mid-March.

However, Grier in his mid-April exit interview, stated, “I would say that’s someone jumping the gun over there.”

Guess not!

Romanov, 22, is a 6-foot-5 netminder, who posted an 8-13-5 record and a .907 Save % for second-division VHL side Gornyak-UGMK.

“Georgi has size, moves very well around the crease and is athletic,” Grier offered. “We feel like he has a good package to be successful.”

SJHN, off a report from Sport Express, got confirmation from Romanov’s agent Sergey Isakov about this signing yesterday.

Isakov told SJHN that Romanov will be attending San Jose Sharks development camp, set to be held in early July.
