Sheng’s Daily: Is Robby Fabbri’s Contract a Good Comp for Kevin Labanc?

Would Johnny Gaudreau be a good fit for the San Jose Sharks?
Yesterday at San Jose Hockey Now, I explored the whys and why nots of Johnny Hockey in teal.
In other San Jose Sharks news…
Wish I could say I can’t believe what I’m seeing. THIS HAS TO STOP! How does anyone think this is right?! We NEED CONSEQUENCES for these sick acts of violence from the people who are suppose to be protecting us! https://t.co/EoxDKiqwAy

Around the NHL…
Hearing the NHL and PA have had preliminary talks about next season. One proposal is to create 4 bubble cities, and rotating all 31 teams in those venues in 8 game increments.
At present, there’s no indication if all the cities would be in Canada.
But makes the most sense.

Impending RFA winger Robby Fabbri signs for two years, $2.95 million per with the Red Wings.
Is he a good comp for Kevin Labanc? Like Labanc, Fabbri is a 24-year-old offense-first RFA winger — neither team is using them on the PK — though Detroit is experimenting with him at center.
For what it’s worth, Labanc’s career-high is 56 points, while Fabbri’s is just 37. On the other hand, Fabbri has draft pedigree — he’s a 2014 first-round draft pick — and Steve Yzerman has cap space to burn, unlike Doug Wilson. (Detroit Free Press)
