BREAKING: Sharks Trade Reedy for Jacob Peterson

In a swap of perhaps stalled prospects, the San Jose Sharks have sent Scott Reedy to the Dallas Stars for Jacob Peterson.
Reedy, the San Jose Sharks’ fourth-round pick in 2017, has just five goals and eight assists for the San Jose Barracuda this season.
Going back to the AHL was perhaps an adjustment for the center-winger, who appeared in 35 games with the San Jose Sharks in 2021-22, scoring seven goals in 35 games.
Jacob Peterson was a Dallas Stars’ 2017 fifth-round pick, who’s appeared in just one NHL game this season after scoring 12 goals in 66 games with the Stars in 2021-22.
Peterson has enjoyed a stronger AHL campaign this season with the Texas Stars, netting 13 goals and 13 assists in 44 games.
Reedy has just come back from an injury. He missed a month between his Jan. 24 and Feb. 27 appearances for the Cuda.
“He’s had a couple of injuries that have gotten in the way. He’s has one right now. Nothing serious, but it’s a nagging, pain in the butt, type of thing right now that has taken a few weeks to come back from,” Barracuda GM Joe Will told San Jose Hockey Now three weeks ago.
Will added, about Reedy’s step back this season: “Sometimes, it’s hard to put a finger on it. A lot of times, [maybe] it’s an adjustment in the way that we play. Some people it matches their skill set better or they quickly adjust to it. Others, it takes a little bit longer.”
