BREAKING: Namestnikov Traded to Jets
So the San Jose Sharks got a fourth-rounder for Vladislav Namestnikov, after all.
The Sharks re-routed Namestnikov, who they acquired on Mar. 1 from the Tampa Bay Lightning for Mikey Eyssimont, to the Winnipeg Jets for a 2025 fourth-rounder.
Elliotte Friedman broke the trade; Pierre LeBrun supplied the details.
Namestnikov never played a game for the San Jose Sharks. It’s the third time in the last four Trade Deadlines (2020, 2022) that the veteran center-winger has been dealt for a fourth-round pick. “To pick up a guy on the waiver wire and two months later, you get a player of the caliber of Vladdy and maybe flip him for high pick?” head coach David Quinn mused yesterday. “That’s great asset management by Mike and our organization. But we’ll see. We’ll see how this plays out.”
Namestnikov was No. 1 on San Jose Hockey Now’s top-10 mostly like San Jose Sharks to get traded list. No. 2 Nick Bonino has also been dealt:
