SJHN Daily: Eklund Leaves Game With Injury, NCAA Tourney Starts Today
March Madness for hockey is set to start today, and for San Jose Sharks fans, here are the prospects to watch.
Magnus Chrona is the starting netminder for Denver University. This is Chrona’s fourth season with DU, who won the NCAA title last season. Chrona is not yet signed by San Jose, but that could change as soon as DU’s tournament ends. Chrona’s signing rights were acquired from the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2021.
Defenseman Henry Thrun will look to avenge last season’s first-round tournament exit for Harvard. Thrun’s signing rights were acquired from the Anaheim Ducks on Feb. 28 for a 2024 third-round pick.
Center Alex Young is in his third season at Colgate University. He was drafted in the seventh round of the 2020 NHL Draft and has yet to sign his entry-level contract with San Jose. He’s a 2023 Hobey Baker nominee.
Below is the broadcast schedule for the NCAA men's hockey tournament.
