Thomas Bordeleau is on the way to San Jose.

The San Jose Sharks announced today that they’ve signed their 2020 second-round pick to an amateur tryout agreement with the Barracuda.

“We are very proud of all that Thomas accomplished during his two years at Michigan and are excited to have him join the Barracuda and play some professional games,” San Jose Sharks assistant general manager Tim Burke said in the Barracuda’s press release.

San Jose Barracuda play-by-play announcer Nick Nollenberger suggested that the University of Michigan product “could make his pro debut as early as tomorrow” as the Barracuda take on the Bakersfield Condors at SAP Center. The Cuda also welcome the Abbotsford Canucks this Friday in their last home game of the year. They end the season with three games on the road, one in Bakersfield and a back-to-back in Henderson.

A source tells San Jose Hockey Now that Bordeleau will make his pro debut tomorrow at 7 PM versus the Condors at SAP Center.

In 2020-21, the 5-foot-9 centerman was named the NCAA Rookie of the Year after leading all freshmen with 30 points (eight goals, 22 assists). The 20-year-old followed that up with a 37-point campaign (12 goals, 25 assists), leading the Wolverines to the Frozen Four this month.

This ATO is a prelude for Bordeleau to ink an entry-level contract with the San Jose Sharks that should start next year.
