San Jose Sharks
First Goals for Everyone! Reedy, Gadjovich Score 1st NHL Goals in 3-1 Sharks Win

The San Jose Sharks welcome the Seattle Kraken into SAP Center. Ryan Dzingel scored his first goal as a member of the Sharks, then Scott Reedy scored his first NHL goal. Jonah Gadjovich added his first too and the Sharks pulled out a gutty 3-1 victory.
Period One
Rough start for Meier: Couple turnovers on entry to start.
Six in: Meloche doesn’t let Donskoi past him.
Seven in: Simek has position but doesn’t get Jarnkrok’s stick. Good chance for Calle.
On other side of TV break though, Meloche does get Sheahan’s stick on a Seattle foray.
Nine in: Good defensive positioning by Barabanov on backcheck. He sorts out potential three-on-two, evens it up correctly.
San Jose Sharks seem sluggish to start, nine left. They’re down 7-2 shots to lowly Kraken. They’re defending OK but little zest right now.
Eight left: Hope breakout pass by Reedy barely gets to Nieto. Lucks out there. Seattle counterattack, Meloche doesn’t buy what Donskoi is selling, knocks him down. He’s been a rare bright spot for Sharks so far.
Seven left: Weatherby line provides actual energy. A rarity for Sharks tonight.
Now Kraken 15-2 shots. This is embarrassing. Only silver lining for Sharks is 0-0 score (or Reimer)

That’s the one thing Dzingel can do, badly needed for dead-in-water looking Sharks team. Fantastic stick check on Donskoi by Couture to win puck in NZ.
And nvm…Meloche was off to a good start, but he got beat on entry. Well, looks like he lost it in his feet, Donato scooped it. Meloche slammed his stick afterwards. Reimer looks he got thrown off by original Geekie shot not getting to him because of Sharks defensive stick, he couldn’t re-position for Geekie’s move.
SEA 19-4 shots, 6-1 Slot Shots (per SPORTLOGiQ), 7-1 High-Danger at 5v5 (per Natural Stat Trick) in the first period. Sharks lucky to escape period tied

Period Two
Big save by Reimer on Johansson.
Middleton takes on Lauzon — clear bid to get the guys going.
That’s interference: Vlasic had position in front, Johansson tries to go around, ends up on top of Reimer.
Five in: Meier was about to roast Giordano but Larsson covers.
Seven in: Reedy might not get a better chance for a first goal. Simek finds him all alone, good vision.
And I was wrong lol…off draw, Reedy sneaks behind Weatherby, fires it quick, maybe surprises Grubauer. Gotta love Weatherby’s reaction, he basically attacks his Cuda teammate.
Ten in: Good defensive stick by Gregor, sorts out his man with a lot going on. Then Merkley gets in trouble along wall, lets himself get surrounded. On-ice awareness of surroundings has to improve. He loses it, but Weatherby recovers and makes a nice hard pass through the forechecker to Middleton. Liked that play by Jasper.
Eight left: Just not Timo’s game tonight, another NZ turnover.
Six left: Fantastic work on forecheck by Bonino to tie up Lauzon. Then Simek makes an alert play to shovel over to weakside point Middleton, shot on Grubauer. San Jose Sharks starting to look more awake.
Six left: Not a good penalty by Merkley. You got beat stick foul.
Four left: Great effort by Burns on that kill.
Credit to the San Jose Sharks: After a listless opening frame, they came back with a solid second. Will start third on PP.
Yup — SJS 3-1 Slot Shots.
Period Three
Merkley-Reedy-Dzingel-Gregor-Bonino is PP2

Two big blocks by Viel after San Jose Sharks’ power play expires. He’s not much with puck, but he does anything to win.
Meier with a couple big one-timer chances in this period.
Eight in: Thought it was a slow start tonight for Timo, but he’s been good this period. Disrupts breaking out Dunn on forecheck.
Seven left: Another nice Couture pickpocket on Kraken rush.
Two minutes left: Another good stick by Couture.
1st time this season #SJSharks have won a game without a point for Hertl or Meier
