SJHN Daily: Beat L…V? Sharks Openly Root for Stars To Reverse Sweep Vegas
For San Jose Sharks fans this postseason, the only thing better than seeing their former stars succeed would be the demise of their most bitter division rival.
That was made clear on Twitter today after Victor E. Green — the Dallas Stars’ mascot — reminded Sharks fans of their success against the Vegas Golden Knights in 2019:
Hey @SanJoseSharks and Sharks fans: Last time Vegas was up 3-1 in the Series, Joe Pavelski and Pete DeBoer helped the Sharks rally and defeat the Knights.
Any chance y’all are willing to become temporary Stars fans for a week?

That 2019 postseason, where the San Jose Sharks reached the Western Conference Finals, was also the last time the team reached the postseason.
The past four playoffs, Sharks fans have been forced to root for former fan favorites such as Joe Thornton, Joonas Donskoi, Barclay Goodrow, Timo Meier, and Brent Burns. Joe Pavelski is the only fan favorite remaining this postseason, still looking for his first Stanley Cup.
The Sharks’ social media team showed love for the former captain and Pete DeBoer by going Stars green:

Just to be clear, this tentative schedule was decided in 2018. Russia and Belarus are currently barred from taking part in and hosting @IIHFHockey events so at the moment, it’s extremely unlikely they’ll be allowed to host the World Juniors in 2032. https://t.co/Pv6StsQJe7
