Locked On Sharks

Oliver Bonk, Great Name, Better Defender?

Published

on

The London Knights’ Oliver Bonk projects to be a steady, reliable top-4 defenseman in the NHL. Could he be another piece for the San Jose Sharks in their quest to revamp the blueline prospect pool? Ben Jordan of Smaht Scouting joins to profile the right-handed defenseman and why he feels like a safe pick. We analyze Bonk’s game and if he has another level to go with his offensive ceiling, why it makes sense for the San Jose Sharks to add a guy like Bonk (11:00), and if Justin Barron is a fair comp (16:30). Finally, Ben helps to sort out the defensemen in the backend of the first round and gives three players he likes in that range (19:00).
