Joel Hanley became the 10th player — and fifth defenseman — over the last 93 years to score his first career NHL goal in the Stanley Cup Final. He’s the first defenseman since Jim Paek in 1991 to accomplish the feat — also on this list is early San Jose Sharks grinder David Maley.

That was a nice article from LeBrun on Pavelski’s journey last offseason. As a Thornton fan, I can’t help but wonder how close was it for him to go to Dallas at the deadline? There were initially reports early in the day that Dallas and Florida coveted him but then he didn’t end up if neither. Later reports came out saying that the dallas deal wasn’t all that close. Obviously Dallas is not missing out on jumbo since they are in the final, but he probably could’ve help with their lack of depth at C I think. The age old… Read more »
