Macklin Celebrini’s status for Saturday’s game is in question.

Celebrini missed practice on Friday, after a banner NHL debut.

The 2024 first-overall pick scored the first goal and assist of his career on Thursday, a San Jose Sharks’ 5-4 OT loss to the St. Louis Blues.

“Lower body,” San Jose Sharks head coach Ryan Warsofsky said, “He’s being evaluated right now.

Will he be ready for the Anaheim Ducks on Saturday?

“He’s still being evaluated today,” Warsofsky said, “so I couldn’t answer that question.”

Did this injury happen during Thursday’s game? Celebrini didn’t play the last 3:42 of the game, though he did return for OT.

“Just lower body, and he’s being evaluated,” Warsofsky said.

Celebrini, of course, dealt with a minor lower-body injury through training camp. Is this related?

“Lower body,” Warsofsky said.

Warsofsky, like wall. Make of all that what you will.

Hopefully, like Celebrini’s camp injury, which led to an early exit during the San Jose Sharks’ Oct. 1 preseason tilt against Utah Hockey Club, this latest issue isn’t much of an issue.
