Locked On Sharks
How Can Luca Cagnoni Help Sharks?

Portland Winterhawks defenseman, Luca Cagnoni, was a driving force behind their success this season, could it help the San Jose Sharks? Daniel Gee from Elite Prospects joins to profile the left-handed blue liner. We start by diving into what makes Cagnoni such an intriguing prospect and why his skating will make him an NHL player. Next, we analyze what type of player he will be in the NHL and why his size might hold him back (14:00), and where he would rank in the San Jose Sharks’ rebuilt defensive prospects pool (19:00). Finally, Daniel helps to sort through some of the defensive prospects in the back end of the first round (24:00).

Keep up with all things San Jose Sharks here:
Vlasic, Ferraro, Simek, Okhotiuk, Mukhamadullin, Knyzhov, Thrun, Cicek, Kniazev, MacDonald, Pulli, Guryev.
thats 12 LHD currently in the org not counting the reserve list. Not a chance they draft another one. Focus their efforts on RHD and goaltending if Ziemmer or Musty is off the board at 26.
I don’t think you worry too much about handedness at this stage of a player’s development. If all things are equal between a RHD or LHD prospect, then yea, choose the RHD. But the org just needs as much talent as possible
Yeah I would actually draft a defenseman or two AT least in this draft considering we have nothing but laroque and maybe furlong and a potential surprise coming up. Still like havelid, but I expected more from him after he was looking like a pro at the rookie tournament.
These would probably be my two picks too if I had to stay at the late first. I’m hoping we can move up, maybe get Matthew woodu or someone who maybe falls unexpectedly. Would be worth losing the 2nd but even better if we get to keep it.
