Is Couture’s Offense Sustainable?

Published

on

Erik Karlsson wasn’t the only player to have a throwback season, Logan Couture had his second-best season in terms of points and one of his most productive seasons in years. Is it sustainable? I dive into Logan Couture’s season and how the San Jose Sharks put Couture in a position to succeed this year. I analyze the two biggest factors in Couture’s bounceback season, Nico Sturm solidifying the 3C position, which allowed Couture to be more offensively focused, and pairing Couture with Alexander Barabanov and allowing Barabanov to be the play driver of the line (10:00). Finally, what does Couture’s production look like when compared to the great San Jose Sharks of the past in Joe Pavelski, Joe Thornton, and Patrick Marleau (19:00)?
