SJHN Daily: Karlsson Celebrates Hall of Fame Call With Alfredsson
When Erik Karlsson came into the National Hockey League, fellow Swede Daniel Alfredsson was there to help the future two-time (so far) Norris winner during his rookie season in 2009-10. The two continued to play for the Ottawa Senators together for the next four seasons. The pair also represented Sweden together during the 2012 World Championships and 2014 Olympic games.
When Ottawa retired Alfredsson’s No. 11, Karlsson was on the ice, still a member of the Senators. Now that his friend and childhood idol is headed into the Hockey Hall of Fame, the current San Jose Sharks defenseman is ready to show his support once again.
Could Karlsson be joining Alfredsson there soon?
