Who Would Josh Tessler Target in Middle Rounds for Sharks?

Published

on

Which players could be targets for the San Jose Sharks in the middle rounds?

Josh Tessler of Smaht Scouting joins to discuss some of his favorite players that could be available in the third, fourth, and fifth rounds of the 2023 NHL Draft. We start on the blueline with Portland Winterhawks’ Carter Sotheran and why he would be a great defensive defenseman to add. Then, Gennadi Chaly of the Waterloo Black Hawks, who has some offensive upside (7:00). Next, Hoyt Stanley of the Victoria Grizzlies who has good size and is a solid puck-moving defenseman (13:00). Matthew Mania of the Sudbury Wolves makes Josh’s list because of his highlight-reel plays (15:00). We stay in the OHL with the Kingston Frontenacs’ Quinton Burns who is a well-rounded defenseman (18:00). The last blueliner on Josh’s list is Djurgårdens’ Arvid Bergström, who is very shifty but needs some more playing time (20:00). We also look at some of the potential forwards, including a potential steal in the Seattle Thunderbirds’ Nico Myatovic who would produce more points if he was given more opportunities (25:00). Brandon Svoboda, a center who is heading to Boston University, has great size and could be a third-line forward with some offensive upside (30:00). Finally, Matthew Soto of the Kingston Frontenacs, who shows some promise and could be a potential second-line player if he works on his stride (32:00).

We love you Josh!!!

Kaspar

Josh has fantastic insight into hockey prospects. As someone else who has had a speech impediment for most of my life I will say those that can’t look past it unfortunately have nothing interesting going on in their lives. Subhumans.

Give us Gennadi Chaly and Myatovic, please.
