Grier, Quinn on First Contract Talks with Meier, Why Top Prospects May Not Make Sharks (+)
The San Jose Sharks did more than officially unveil their brand-new home and away uniforms on Wednesday night.
They made new general manager Mike Grier and head coach David Quinn available to season ticket holders for a Q&A.
Frankly, from my vantage point, I couldn’t hear much of what they were saying. But Grier and Quinn were made available to local media after their Q&A, here are some of the highlights.
We get into why it’s going to be challenging for William Eklund and company to make the San Jose Sharks on opening night, the clearest sign that we’ve received yet that pending RFA Timo Meier wants to stay in San Jose, what’s going on with the Evander Kane grievance, Quinn’s conversation with Radim Simek, Grier’s thoughts about trading Adin Hill, and their overall satisfaction with the state of the Sharks’ defense.
In addition, I get a sense of Ryan Merkley’s trade value around the league and a text from Bill Daly about the Kane grievance.
