What Should Sharks Do If Eklund Isn’t Available?

Published

on

KyleErik, and JD look at what the San Jose Sharks should do if William Eklund isn’t available for the Sharks at the seventh pick. We look at Elliotte Friedman’s 31 thoughts and the reports of Buffalo trying to acquire another high pick and if the Sharks should look at Mason McTavish or Chaz Lucius (6:00). We then look at some of the other paths the San Jose Sharks could take including Brandt Clarke (9:00), if we are too low on Dylan Guenther (13:00), and why they could be trying to get one of the top defensemen (22:00).

He skates well, he plays physical when warranted, and he’s only going to get bigger and stronger. And I know the term gets… Read more »

It’s a fairly wide-open draft, but my guess is that Guenther doesn’t fall that far to No. 7

McTavish isn’t even in my top 10 (he’s in my 11-15 range). i also believe he’ll play wing over center at the NHL level. Lucius and Guenther are in my top 10. if Beniers, Eklund, and Clarke are off the board by the time the Sharks pick it’s going to be (for me) either Guenther, Johnson, or Lucius. i just can’t take a goalie in the top 10. not really interested in Power and Edvinsson, and Hughes is a long term project (plus concerns over his mobility injury).

i really hope the Wilsii stay away from McTavish.
