Lane Pederson is a right-handed center.
Can add: #SJSharks are very high on Pederson. The 23-year-old will certainly compete for a spot in SJS line-up this fall, the RFA is NOT waiver-exempt https://t.co/CH50oxz5Th

#SJSharks still have cap space…I have a feeling they aren't done yet today

By my estimation, Sharks will still have about $2.5 million left to play with in free agency (projecting Adin Hill and Noah Gregor’s new deals). But this Reimer contract is in line with Bonino and Cogliano’s i.e. we don’t have the financial space to go for it all, but let’s be better, let’s make the best of all the long, not appetizing contracts we’re in the middle of.

Reimer or bust for San Jose?
Vegas gets a goalie. Brossoit 2yrs. $2.325 mil per.

San Jose getting good value today. These are good “hedge your bets” moves — essentially, Sharks are saying we want to be better, we want to make the playoffs, but we’re not going to sign any more long, bad contracts to do it. This is straddling the fence, how to stay respectable while letting the bad contracts run out or rehabilitate themselves.

Source indicates that San Jose Sharks did reach out on Erik Haula, but not a lengthy conversation. Wonder what Bonino’s contract figure will come out to be.

Indications are veteran forward Nick Bonino will sign with the San Jose Sharks.

Kurtis Gabriel getting a lot of attention…plenty of interest for his role.

The San Jose Sharks won’t be signing Jonathan Bernier or Jaroslav Halak…James Reimer?
All signs point to UFA G Jonathan Bernier signing with New Jersey today.
As we reported before, UFA G Jaroslav Halak should be signing with Vancouver.
I wonder if UFA G James Reimer ends up in SJ or Vegas?
Still lots to play out with goalies.@TSNHockey @TheAthletic— Pierre LeBrun (@PierreVLeBrun) July 28, 2021

Hearing that one forward that could join the Sharks when the free agent market opens is Andrew Cogliano, who has spent the last three seasons in Dallas. We’ll see if it gets done officially tomorrow.

Source tells San Jose Hockey Now that Braden Holtby is NOT an option for San Jose Sharks.
SOURCE: Holtby is NOT one of #SJSharks goaltending targets.

It’s confirmed, as suspected, that the San Jose Sharks will let UFA Kurtis Gabriel test the open market.
