How does the NHL view the San Jose Sharks’ prospect pool?

The Athletic’s Corey Pronman, as connected as any prospects writer out there, ranked Sharks prospects 13th in the league in an article on Wednesday.

Pronman was very complimentary of the team’s depth up the middle. He wrote: “Tomas Hertl, Will Smith, and Filip Bystedt are a group of centers the Sharks can win with.” However, Pronman feels the Sharks depth on the blueline needs to improve in the future.

Not surprising, Pronman’s top San Jose Sharks prospect is recent fourth-overall pick Will Smith who he projects to be a future All-Star.

“He has tremendous puck skills, vision and overall offensive creativity and projects to be a major asset on an NHL power play,” Pronman wrote.

Rounding out the team’s top-five prospects were first-round draftees William Eklund, Shakir Mukhamadullin, Filip Bystedt, and Quentin Musty.

Read the article to find out the rest of Pronman’s top-13. Where did Thomas Bordeleau, Cam Lund, Henry Thrun, Kasper Halttunen, Mattias Havelid, Tristen Robins, and Danil Gushchin slot?

Pronman also has a big surprise at the end of his top-13.

According to Pronman, the team’s pipeline has grown significantly over the last year, moving from No. 21 to 13.
